The blockbuster movie of the year 2 States is all set to go to South India. The movie, which collected more than Rs. 100 crore at Indian box office, will be remade in Tamil and Telugu.

After winning the heart of all Hindi film audiences, 2 States is now ready to impress south Indian audiences. According to the latest report, the rights of its remake have been acquired by Prasad V Potluri of PVP Cinema.

The star casts and other details of its remake is kept under the wrap and if sources are to be believed, Prasad V Potluri will make the official announcement on the project soon.

2 States is an adaptation of a novel by Chetan Bhagat with the same name. It revolves around a Punjabi boy and a Tamil Brahmin girl who fall in love with each other and decide to get married with the consent of their families.

Sajid Nadiawala Wants more books

After the success of his latest released ‘2 States’ which was based on Chetan Bhagat’s bestseller novel of the same titile, the producer-director Sajid Nadiawala now wants more books. The director is planning to buy the rights to a few books even before they release in the market.

According to a source closed to Sajid, he is asking close friends for book recommendations and he is also getting in touch with writers as he believes that content makes all the differences and is working towards building strong bank of content across genres. He is busy to meeting up with some leading authors for interesting story.

“2 States has done extremely well and Phantom starring Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif is also based on a book, that has been written by S. Hussain Zaidi. The book yet to be launched in market. Sajid heard the draft and bought the rights for the film when the book was not even half way through. With the success of 2 States and Phantom shaping up well, Sajid now wants to cash in on more books,” a source closed to the director said.

Sajid Nadiawala is currently busy in the shooting of his most awaited upcoming film ‘KICK’ starring Salman Khan. After wrapping its shooting, he will be busy in his upcoming projects and will choose some author’s story.

Chetan Bhagat’s Story ‘2 States’ Enters In 100 Crore Club

Arjun Kapoor And Alia Bhatt Starrer Movie ‘2 States’ which released on 18th April, has successfully crossed Rs 100 crore mark at the Indian Box Office in 23 days.

The film which is said to have been made on a budget of approximately Rs.45 crore, finally joined the 100 crore club. It is 28th 100 crore hindi grosser film and 2nd 100 crore grosser film of the year 2014.

Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh posted on Twitter, “‘2 States’ hits a ton. Crosses Rs.100 crore mark. Rs.102.13 crore nett. Super Hit.”

In the domestic market, 2 States had
collected Rs 60.77 cr in the first week, Rs
26.54 cr in the second week, Rs 11.64 cr in the third week.

In its fourth weekend, the film has
accumulate Rs 3.18 crores nett at the
Indian Box Office. Taking its 24-day domestic total to Rs. 102.13 crores nett. Its breakup is Rs 70 lakhs on Fri, Rs 1.06 cr on Sat and Rs 1.42 cr on Sun.

Chetan Bhagat also tweeted, “So #2states hits 100 crores! Congrats to the entire team and you guys who made it happen.”

2 States has collected Rs. 1.45 crore nett on its 3rd Monday at Indian box office per estimates. The total 18 days domestic box office collection is now becomes Rs. 96.26 crore nett. It has registered the minimal drop of around 25% yesterday than its 3rd Sunday.

2 States is now ready to be a part of Rs. 100 crore club. It will surely cross Rs. 100 crore by the end of this Week. Verdict – SUPER HIT.

In his latest released film 2 STATES , Arjun Kapoor is seen in a completely different role as compared to his earlier films like Ishaqzaade , Gunday And Aurangzeb. The 28 year old actor’s latest release 2 states, which also stars Alia
Bhatt, is doing very well at the box office
and getting very good reviews from both critics and audiences.

Arjun is very happy with the success of the film. He says that he is grateful, that director has trust upon him and given him a chance to discover a new and different look and genre for him. He is thankful that he has managed to break his action hero stereotype (thought of doing a single type of film) with 2 States.
